Love and Other Short Stories!
Hey there,
February has always been a month that set the momentum for the rest of the year for me. Either through moving houses, switching jobs, or even taking different routes in relationships. So, I cannot wait for what this month holds. Happy February fox!
February is known as the month of Love. The month where love is celebrated left, right and centre. We see couples going out publicly, hotels and restaurants filled to capacity, lovely Airbnb's spots fully booked, and most people wear clothes with a touch of red to celebrate Love. But Lemme ask, who is this who chose red as the color of love? What was he, she or them thinking? I question this because I am Kenyan. Our flag has four colors, including red. The red symbolizes the struggle and the blood that our ancestors shed during the fight for independence by independence. So, with this context, saying that red symbolizes love is quite unfathomable simply because love should not be that of a struggle. Love is not a bed of roses, but surely it should not be that kind of a struggle. No?
This month, I will write and post love stories, every type of love because love is too broad, too wide to restrict to just romantic love. These are stories of people who were, some still are, brave enough to choose love in the era of clowning and being embarrassed by their people, being taken for granted by their entitled family members and even rejected at the profession of their love.
I hope you stay to the coming series of love in the next days.
Yours,
Stacy.
Niiiicccee looking forward to more
